Course Terms and Conditions

HASOU Fashion Academy Limited is an online short-course provider that places a strong emphasis on nurturing student creativity and facilitating real-world collaboration within the fashion industry.

Our website (our “site”) www.hasoufashionacademy.com is operated by HASOU Fashion Academy Limited (company number 15216761) (“we”, “us”, “our”). The business office address is 249 Cranbrook Road, Ilford, IG1 4TG, UK.

These terms and conditions of online courses, apply to the sale of any of our Online Courses with the inclusion of the Fashion Design Summer School.  Please read them carefully before purchasing an online course. Once purchased, you are confirming your agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Admission Requirements

All courses are currently for students aged 18 and above. These are advanced courses, prior knowledge of the subjects are required with the exception of the Fashion Design Summer School course.

In order to purchase an Online Course you must provide the required information and pay the amount specified.  You must ensure that all information provided is complete and accurate.

A legally binding agreement shall only come into existence once Your course place is confirmed. You will receive an email confirmation of your order once the payment is complete.

Taught Time Zones

The times listed for each online course are UK time. Students from across the globe are welcome to attend our online courses. It is important you adjust the times to your local time zone to make sure you can attend; you can check online here: World Time Buddy.

English Requirements

All our courses are taught in English. It is the expectation you will converse in English during all taught sessions; therefore, all students must hold an adequate level of both spoken and written English. If English is not your first language, it is recommended you have an overall IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent with a minimum of 5.5 in all the skills elements of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening to enable you to fully understand and participate in the course.

Digital Course Delivery

We use Microsoft Teams to deliver our online real-time sessions, simultaneously supporting collaboration, communication, and learning.

Online Course Materials

To take part in the online sessions you will need the following:

  • Use the latest version of the web browser, we recommend Firefox or Chrome. For the best experience, you should always keep your browser up-to-date
  • A headset microphone
  • Webcam
  • Strong Internet connection via Wi-Fi or ethernet – we recommend a minimum of 2 Mbps download, and 1 Mbps upload, faster if possible. You can test your network speed here: https://www.speedtest.net

Booking

Your course place is confirmed once you have booked online using a credit or debit card, you will receive an email confirmation of your order once the payment is complete. Places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

Pricing

The price is quoted in pounds sterling and is as set out on the Website.

In the event of a change in the price, the original purchase price contracted with the student will be maintained.  If the student leaves their course and returns to their studies more than one year later, if there has been a change in price during this period, this increase will be passed on to the student for any remaining part of any course fee at the time of leaving the course.

Payment details

  • Full payment is due at the time of the booking.
  • If you are booking more than two months before the course commences you can secure your place with a £500 deposit, the remaining balance needs to be paid in full one month before the course starts.
  • We close all new bookings four weeks before the course starts.

Overdue or Unpaid Accounts

We reserve the right to recover overdue payments or unpaid accounts by whatever legal means we see fit. All costs, including legal expenses, incurred in the recovery of overdue balances will be payable by the student.

Failure to settle overdue accounts will result in an interruption to the service until the debt is settled.

Cancellations 

Where we have confirmed the services being purchased by you and formed a legally binding agreement with you then you are permitted within 14 working days starting on the day after the date, we have concluded our agreement to cancel your purchase of the Services.

If you have purchased an Online Course and have already accessed, downloaded all or part of the Online Course and/or started to use that Online Course then you shall have no right to cancel your order.

There is no other right to cancel or vary your purchase of services and any other cancellation and/or variation of course dates will be at the entire discretion of HASOU Fashion Academy Limited.

Services

  • When you register for a course, you will be assigned a tutor and industry mentor where applicable.
  • Your supportive tutors will guide and steer you through the learning process; you can contact them directly via email or through the forum which can be accessed through our Online Learning Centre.
  • Your dedicated specialist tutor will be available to guide and regularly support you openly imparting their expert professional experience within the creative industries.
  • Tutors will explain and clarify information in easy-to-understand English.
  • Specialist professional vocabulary and terminology will be clearly explained and communicated.
  • You will have the opportunity to book one-to-one and drop-in tutorials, you can also request additional meetings with your tutor at any point during your course.
  • You will receive regular constructive feedback and participate in beneficial critiques on your assignments; we pride ourselves on providing extensive, insightful, and feed-forward feedback.
  • We reserve the right to vary or withdraw any of the services described on the Website without notice.

Data Protection

We will process the information we collect from you or otherwise hold about you in accordance with our privacy policy and UK data protection legislation.

Intellectual property rights

All Intellectual Property Rights in the Course Materials, Online Courses and the speeches made by mentors/associates are, and remain, the intellectual property of HASOU Fashion Academy Limited.

You are not authorised to:-

(i) copy, modify, reproduce, re-publish, sub-licence, sell, upload, broadcast, post, transmit or distribute any of the Course Materials without prior written permission;

(ii) record on video or audio tape, relay by videophone or other means the Online Course;

(iii) use the Course Materials in the provision of any other course or training whether given by us or any third party trainer;

(iv) remove any copyright or other notice of HASOU Fashion Academy Limited on the Course Materials;

(v) modify, adapt, merge, translate, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer (save to the extent permitted by law) any software forming part of the Online Courses.

Disclaimer

HASOU Fashion Academy Limited shall not be held liable in any way for default, loss of trade or profit occurring to the student in the event of delivery of the service being frustrated or delayed for any reason including but not limited to: force majeure, riots, lockouts, trade disputes, acts of governments, , technical problems resulting in errors or interruptions of the website, incompatibility of the website with your hardware, software or telecommunication links, failure of the website to meet your requirements or from other causes not within reasonable control of our company.

In no event shall HASOU Fashion Academy Limited be liable to the student for incidental, indirect, consequential or special damages.

We are not responsible to you for any data that you lose either as a result of accessing the Online Course or during completion of any Online Course via the Website.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you regularly save and back up your data.

We may assign, transfer, sub-contract any of our rights or obligations to any third party at our discretion.

Every effort has been made to ensure that the services are described as accurately as possible and that the information on the Website is accurate and up to date.

The maximum liability of HASOU Fashion Academy Limited to the student shall not exceed the cost of the goods supplied.

General

We reserve the right to vary or withdraw any of the services described on our website without notice.

We expect you to confirm that the services you are purchasing will meet your needs.  We do not make any guarantee to you that you will obtain a particular result, professional qualification or employment opportunity from your purchase and completion of any of the services.

We reserve the right to withhold the service in the event of any breach of these terms and conditions or for any other reason which at the discretion of HASOU Fashion Academy Limited warrants such action.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

The agreement shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and the parties hereby submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.

Rights of the Consumer

Nothing in these conditions shall affect the statutory rights of a consumer.
