Mohsin Sajid, a British Fashion Designer, author and graduate of Westminster University (2002), is a highly accomplished denim specialist, acclaimed pattern cutter and ergonomic tailor. He has worked for some of the best denim and apparel companies in the global industry for the last 23 years.
In 2019 & 2020 was selected in Rivet 50, index of the most creative & forward-thinking leaders driving the global jeanswear industry and in 2024 was selected by WeAr Global Magazine Denim Top 100 for 2024.
Starting his career at Oki-ni, he has designed for Levi’s Japan, Levi’s Europe, Evisu, and Aquascutum. He then consulted for several prestigious brands from: Edwin Europe, Pringle of Scotland, John Richmond, Puma AG, Ducati, DKNY JEANS International, Timberland and Jil Sander.
Since 2012 Mohsin established his own awarding winning ENDRIME Denim Workshop, and consultancy with his wife Sadia Rafique, a well know graphics and marketing leader in denim industry in her own right. Together they have designed for over 50 companies, designing collections, fabrics and directed marketing videos about each of their projects.
Mohsin personally has been focusing on modern ergonomic denim fits with clean construction. He loves exploring modern and lost constructions methods and combining his Denim History research in relatively uncharted areas in Denim Design. He is a non-believer of fast and cheap methods of production.
ENDRIME as a brand has shown at a number of International trade shows : Kingpins Show, Amsterdam, New York and Hong Kong, Premiere Vision Denim London, Milan and Munich fabric start Bluezone, in Munich. Since 2015, Mohsin has been consulting for many denim mills and apparel manufactures, notably Desert Studio in Dubai where he designed for Abercrombie & Fitch, Vivienne Westwood, Jack Wills, Lyle & Scott and High street labels: House of Fraser, Topman, Topshop, River island and Primark.
From 2015 – 2018 – Mohsin was appointed Creative Director at Kassim Denim and Head of Design at US Apparel Group, and Consultant for Neela Denim ( apart of Sapphire Group ). Three of the biggest Pakistani denim mills, where he consulted for Zara, Guess Jeans, Fatface, Burton, Next, M&S, Mothercare, Shop Direct, Tesco and Asda. For all three denim mills he headed up their selvedge and denim divisions and designed award winning Denim fabrics for the mills, presenting collections at Kingpins, Denim PV and Munich Fabric Start trade shows every season.
Mohsin is also a vintage denim machine specialist and vintage denim collector amassing an archive of around 3000 vintage garments. Mohsin is one of a handful of designers to be invited to attend Cone Denim College in Greensboro, North Carolina USA in 2005 and completed his Denim Pilgrimage, in Kojima, Okiyama Japan in 2012.
A champion of Denim Education since 2005, Mohsin has a passion for building local industry, helping establish Blackhorse Lane Ateliers in East London in 2015, and running his own Denim Masterclasses there. His keen interest in raising the next generation of denim designers reflecting in his role as MA university lecturer at The Royal College of Art and BA lecturer at Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion, Kingston, Ravensbourne, and Westminster Universities and is visiting lecture at countless others and is often teaching in the smallest colleges and the biggest fashion universitys.
For the past 10 years he personally sponsors up to 6 students with full denim sponsorship – partnering with Bossa Denim Turkey, Cone Denim USA and Kaihara Denim mill in Japan every season.
Mohsin is a highly sort after for his lectures, practical workshops with UAL short courses and Webinars – often been invited to chair many talks, with CARVED IN BLUE® Blog by TENCEL™, Bluezone / Munich Fabric Start, Denim PV trade shows, Denim Expo in Bangladesh and Kingpins shows – Mohsin often get asks to give lectures to entire design teams. In Oct 2014 he was invited to Malmö Sweden to give a inspiration lecture to IKEAs 150 Design Team.
In 2014 Mohsin was invited to be expert and adviser for the British High Court, where he wrote expert reports for the biggest denim case in 2014. He was summoned to give evidence, when the case was heard at trial.
From September 2018, Mohsin has also established www.denimhistory.com his own British Denim School – in partnership with Ravensbourne University and was lead denim lecturer at the newly created “The Denim School of Milan”, working in partnership with Acof Moda Fashion School in Milan, Candiani Denim and laundry and dyeing experts Tornello. Mohsin is also Lead denim lecturer at “Denim Institute Milano” from October 2019 and from 2023 he has been a Visiting lecturer at Hong Kong Design Institute.
In 2018 the goal to design more sustainability lead to fulfilling a major year long sustainable design project collaboration with Lenzing ( Tencel ) and Jeanologia completed in 2019. With a ground-breaking authentic workwear collection, designed from the ground up using 9 different mills, from Candiani, Kaihara, Orta, Atlantic mills and Cone Denim. and specialist eco trims made with YKK. The project was only using only Tencel Lyocell based fibre and waterless treatments with Jeanologia laser technology, based from Mohsins own ENDRIME archive.
In 2020 and 2021 Mohsin designed and made during Lock down “BAST RECAST” collection with Lenzing ( Tencel ) – This collection used the latest cottonized and wet spun Hemp innovations blended with Tencel lyocell – This collection was made in collaboration with naveena denim in Pakistan ( with fabrics design from the ground up by Mohsin himself ) This project also included Jeanologia, warp-face, Crafil and Officina +39 – The entire collection was photographed my renown photographer Nick Clements.
From 2019 Mohsin has been main organiser and host of educational conference: Transformers Foundation ED in partnership with transformers foundation, and Ravensbourne University London. 1st of its kind was held on October 2019. Bringing the already popular educational event to fashion students in UK, with the help and support of Andrew Olah, Transformers Foundation Founder. This event is designed to educate and inspire students, who will hear about denim production from fibre to the finished jean directly from leading supply chain experts. Invited were over 100 British and international universities. These educational events have turned more international with events in Brazil, Mexico, Istanbul, Hong Kong and Pakistan. Mohsin has hosted and organised to date well over 18 different Transformers Foundation ED educational conferences.
Mohsin is currently writing a number books, and started to publish Books under is ENDRIME label – His 1st book about 200 of his 3000 vintage denim ENDRIME Archive. A 550 page resource book for designers and fashion students. His 1st book on denim manufacturing processes; a comprehensive textbook from 1870 to modern ergonomic denim of today, which he hopes to complete in 2025. Further book about Denim Pattern cutting, Denim patents is planned to be released by April 2025.
