Mentors

Ben Stubbington

Ben was born in the UK, where his family all reside.  After graduating The University of Brighton in 2000 he moved to New York City, for 17 years working in the fashion industry.  Working for Banana Republic, Calvin Klein, Rogan before becoming Creative Director at Theory for eight years, defining the mens holistic vision. Most recently he was SVP of Men’s and Lab at Lululemon, where he spent seven years creating the vision for those businesses and overall Creative Direction for the brand.  April 2024 Ben accepted the role as Creative Director of Veilance brand for Arcteryx.

Ben is a designer but likes to think of himself as a fluid creative.  He likes to work on things with true meaning, be that my personal creative practices or commercial endeavors.  Understanding ‘why’ and focusing on a minimalist vision of less is more are the foundations to him.  Art and design without purpose is decoration.

He lives in Los Angeles, where he has been for five years with his partner Heather, a musician and artists assistant.  Health and sporting activities have always been part of his lifeblood, running on road and trail, hiking, surfing, cycling, snowboarding, yoga and meditation are probably highest on his rotation, he’s mediocre at all, but loves them all.  Other passions lie in friendships, music and live music, art and design, nature, emerging cultural movements.  More and more he’s trying to live as intentionally as possible.

Industry Experience

Certainly! Here is the revised version with British English spellings:
